A Fresno man who is currently on trial for murdering four white men in 2017 told detectives upon his arrest that the motive behind his action was because he got fed up with racism against blacks.

According to The Fresno Bee, the accused, Kori Ali Muhammad, told detectives he went on the killing spree after being named as a person of interest in the fatal shooting of the first victim. He said since he was going to be arrested eventually, he had nothing to lose.

If found guilty of the murders, Muhammad could receive a death sentence. His lawyers, however, argue that he has a mental disorder and is schizophrenic despite Muhammad claiming he killed them out of anger over racial discrimination in the United States.

There is contention among a few historians as to whether Ethiopia deserves the accolade as the only country on the continent that was never successfully colonized.

This is because Liberia, a country founded in 1847 as a home for freed enslaved African by abolitionists ulterior motives, was also technically never colonized, at least, not in any way close to how we would speak of the imperial annexation of other places in Africa.

Images of cremated snakes, tapirs cooked to death, and jaguars with bandaged, burnt paws in the Pantanal region in Brazil’s centre-west have horrified Brazilians at a time when fires are also razing forests in the Amazon. A dark cloud of soot from fires is heading towards São Paulo.

Namibian President Hage Geingob has rejected Germany’s offer to compensate the southern African nation for colonial-era mass killings. Geingob said in a statement on Tuesday that Berlin’s offer of $11.7 million was “not acceptable.”

During the colonial era between 1904 and 1908 the German Empire killed as many as 80,000 Herero and Nama people in response to an anti-colonial resistance, per the US Holocaust Museum. Other estimates put the number of African people killed at over 100,000.
