THE MOMENT OF TRUTH FRIDAY CRIME REPORT (3/14/25)

Every Friday, PROFESSOR BLACK TRUTH shares “The Friday Crime Report,” a thought-provoking series that delves deeply into the ongoing struggles faced by the black community while addressing incidents that are often overlooked by mainstream media. These reports not only highlight critical issues such as systemic racism, economic disparities, and police brutality, but they also emphasize the importance of awareness and dialogue within society at large. By shedding light on these often-ignored topics, the reports aim to foster understanding among diverse audiences and encourage vital conversations that are essential for progress. Each episode serves as a catalyst for change, calling for collective action and community engagement to create a more equitable future where everyone, regardless of their background, is treated with the dignity and respect they inherently deserve. Through education and awareness, the Friday Crime Report seeks to empower individuals to advocate for justice and equality, fostering a sense of solidarity and hope within the community.

In Today’s installment…

Children’s tales of “evil stepmothers” are rooted in reality, exemplified by a recent horrifying case from Waterbury, Connecticut, where a woman confined her 11-year-old stepson in a small room for 20 years. This tragic situation not only highlights the extreme lengths of psychological abuse that can occur within a family but also serves as a stark reminder of how societal structures often fail to protect vulnerable children from such malice. The isolation endured by the child in such deplorable conditions illustrates the desperate need for better support systems and intervention strategies for at-risk youths. It raises fundamental questions about the responsibilities of family members and the community in safeguarding children’s well-being.

Additionally, the case underscores the importance of raising awareness about domestic abuse, not only in direct forms but also through emotional neglect, which can leave deep and lasting scars. Raising the alarm on these hidden forms of abuse emphasizes the need for continuous vigilance and more robust child protection policies to ensure that no child experiences such horror and deprivation ever again.

As the world grapples with the complexities of familial relationships, the shocking reality of this case sheds light on the dark undercurrents that can exist beneath the surface of seemingly ordinary lives, raising important questions about the monitoring of child welfare and the need for greater awareness and intervention in potential cases of neglect and abuse. This situation not only highlights the failures of support systems meant to protect vulnerable children but also illustrates how crucial it is for communities to engage actively in recognizing signs of distress.

The stories of those who suffer in silence urgently remind us that we must cultivate an environment where open dialogue about family dynamics is encouraged and where every member of society feels empowered to speak up. Moreover, addressing these issues requires a multifaceted approach that includes education, resources for families in crisis, and a commitment to fostering healthier family environments.

MALICIA AS A GAME OF POWER (3/13/25)

Welcome to MALICIA AS A GAME OF POWER, a blog series that explores strategy in interactions, focusing on effective communication, conflict resolution, and building connections. It covers topics like negotiation techniques, manipulation tactics, leadership skills, personal branding, and online reputation management to equip you with tools for navigating power dynamics and achieving success in social and professional settings.

In this installment, we will explore the 20th law of power in the book, the 48 laws of power by Robert Greene. You can but a copy by clicking HERE.

LAW 20 PART 1: DO NOT COMMIT TO ANYONE

DO NOT COMMIT TO ANYONE, as relationships can often lead to complications that may hinder personal growth and freedom. It is essential to focus on your own goals and aspirations, allowing yourself the space to explore new opportunities without being tied down. This journey of self-discovery not only empowers you but also cultivates resilience, enabling you to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

By prioritizing your independence, you can develop a stronger sense of self and make decisions that truly align with your values and desires, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling life experience. Embracing your individuality can open doors to vast experiences, enriching your life in ways that relationships may sometimes overshadow, allowing you to fully realize your potential while enjoying the journey of life on your own terms. This journey of self-discovery not only fosters personal growth but also enhances your ability to interact meaningfully with others.

When you understand and embrace who you are, you cultivate a confident self-image that enables you to pursue your passions wholeheartedly. Furthermore, being independent means that you can explore varied interests and activities without feeling beholden to the preferences of others, leading to unique opportunities and memorable adventures that shape your character and resilience. Through independence, you learn to trust your intuition and judgment, creating a solid foundation for future endeavors, while also inspiring those around you to seek their own paths toward self-fulfillment.

The 20th Law of Power: Do Not Commit to Anyone, as viewed through the philosophical and physical lens of an Angoleiro of Capoeira Angola.

This exploration delves into the nuanced application of the Machiavellian principle, “Do Not Commit to Anyone,” interpreting it not as a call for outright disloyalty or isolation, but as a strategic path toward maintaining autonomy, flexibility, and a balanced perspective, a vital necessity for practitioners of Capoeira Angola. The Angoleiro’s Stance: Malícia, Autonomy, and the Roda

For the Angoleiro, a student and master of Capoeira Angola, life is a constant jogo (game/dance) where power dynamics are subtle yet profound. The 20th Law is translated into the core Capoeira concepts of malícia (cunning, street smarts) and corpo fechado (literally “closed body,” meaning spiritual and mental protection).

  1. Strategic Neutrality and the Malícia:
An Angoleiro must cultivate malícia—the ability to read the unspoken intentions of others and to navigate conflicts without taking a permanent, limiting side. Committing absolutely to one faction, one patron, or one rigid dogma is to forfeit the ultimate weapon: unpredictability. In the roda (the circle where Capoeira is played), an opponent who is too predictable is easily countered. Similarly, in life, an individual too closely aligned with a singular source of power becomes vulnerable to that source’s eventual downfall or changing whims. The Angoleiro maintains a position of watchful neutrality, allowing them to shift alliances or retreat gracefully when necessary, mirroring the evasive, fluid movements of the jogo.
  2. Freedom of Movement and the Ginga:
The ginga is the foundational, continuous movement of Capoeira. It is not merely a warm-up; it is a philosophy of perpetual motion and non-commitment to a fixed point. An Angoleiro who commits to a static position in the roda is immediately exposed to attack. Applying this to the 20th Law, “Do Not Commit to Anyone” means never allowing a single person, organization, or ideology to become your permanent, unmoving center. This freedom ensures the Angoleiro‘s path is always their own, enabling them to move around and utilize multiple resources (patrons, teachers, communities) without being bound by their limitations or demands. They become the essential, free-floating element that others must court, rather than the beholden servant.
  3. Patronage and Independence (The Mestre and the System):
Historically, Capoeira masters often had to navigate complex political and social landscapes, relying on temporary patrons for survival and the right to practice. The wise master learned not to be permanently indebted. The law advises keeping a distance even from powerful mentors or Mestres once their essential teachings have been absorbed. While respect and loyalty are paramount, absolute commitment risks becoming a mere reflection or extension of the patron, stifling one’s own unique development. The goal is to establish one’s own independent school and authority—a roda that orbits no one but is respected by all.
  4. Playing the Game of Demand:
By refusing to commit fully, the Angoleiro keeps their services scarce and their value high. If you are known to be solely dedicated to one cause, your commitment is assumed, and your influence diminishes. If you are the sought-after neutral expert—the one who can be temporarily persuaded by various sides—both parties will vie for your attention and loyalty, granting you greater leverage and independence than a fully committed subordinate. This strategic ambiguity is the essence of advanced jogo.

In conclusion, for the Angoleiro, the 20th Law is a principle of survival and supremacy: maintain the freedom to move, the clarity to observe, and the distance to negotiate, ensuring that one’s power remains rooted in self-possession, not in the fluctuating fortunes of others.

In today’s installment…

How far would you defend yourself or others in dangerous situations? In this video are some compelling examples of actual situations that showcase the courage and quick thinking of individuals when faced with threats.

For instance, you’ll see a woman who bravely fights off a robber in a store, demonstrating not only her strength but also her determination to protect herself and her belongings. Her prompt response serves as a reminder of the importance of being aware of one’s surroundings and having the confidence to act when necessary. Additionally, there is a situation where a woman comes to the aid of an autistic customer being harassed, illustrating the importance of standing up for those who may not be able to defend themselves. This particular incident sheds light on the social responsibility we hold towards the vulnerable individuals in our communities, reminding us that kindness and bravery can coexist in even the most challenging circumstances.

Of course, law enforcement does not advise that someone goes up against an armed attacker, for that is extremely dangerous. However, these real-life scenarios provoke thought about the lengths we are willing to go to ensure safety for ourselves and others, sparking important conversations about personal responsibility and altruism in today’s society. Such discussions encourage us to reflect on our values and the actions we might take to foster a safer environment, not just for ourselves but for those around us who may need our support. Moreover, contemplating our responses to dangerous situations can lead to a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding personal safety, community vigilance, and the moral obligations we have towards our fellow citizens.

It raises questions such as: What measures are we prepared to take when confronted with violence? What role do bystanders play in crisis situations, and how can we empower individuals to act wisely and safely? Engaging in these reflections can galvanize us into proactive community involvement, driving efforts to educate ourselves about self-defense, emergency preparedness, and intervention strategies, ultimately working together to build a society where safety and compassion are paramount.

Explore his YouTube channel HERE for thought-provoking analyses and connect with a community passionate about knowledge and understanding. Don’t miss the chance to enrich your worldview through enlightening conversations.

Shills and others argue we deserve disrespect for advocating for ourselves, but it’s actually our failure to do so that has led to this disrespect. When we choose to remain silent or passive in the face of injustice, we inadvertently reinforce the very narratives that belittle our worth.

By not standing up and voicing our concerns, we allow misconceptions and stereotypes to flourish, giving validity to those who dismiss our experiences. It is our responsibility to challenge these perceptions actively and demand the respect we deserve, for only through our advocacy can we begin to change the conversation and empower ourselves and others who share in this struggle. This journey requires courage and persistence, as we must confront not just the surface-level prejudices but also the deep-rooted beliefs that perpetuate inequality.

Every voice matters, and it is crucial that we come together as a united front, sharing our stories and experiences to highlight the realities of our situations. When we exchange our narratives, we not only validate each other but also educate those who may not understand the implications of their ignorance. In doing so, we pave the way for future generations to inherit a more inclusive and understanding society, one where diversity is cherished rather than marginalized. By fostering open dialogues, we create spaces for learning and growth, allowing people from all walks of life to engage with our realities, thus dismantling the walls that separate us.

It’s important for us all to confront these uncomfortable truths, as only then can we hope to pave the way towards a more equitable future where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background.

In Today’s installment…

In Tamarac, Florida, in a harrowing incident that shocked the local community, Nathan Gingles chased his wife with a gun, an act of violence that ultimately resulted in the tragic deaths of not only his wife but also his father-in-law and a neighbor who tried to intervene. This senseless tragedy was further compounded by the belief that it could have been preventable had the police acted appropriately and responded more effectively to the warning signs leading up to this horrifying event.

Many community members lament the missed opportunities for intervention, calling for a thorough review of the police protocols and a deeper understanding of domestic violence warning signs to ensure that such heartbreaking incidents do not occur in the future. They emphasize the need for comprehensive training for law enforcement officers, focusing not only on the legal aspects of domestic violence but also on the psychological and emotional factors involved. Furthermore, there is a growing demand for community outreach programs that educate the public about the red flags of abusive relationships and how to seek help. Initiatives that foster collaboration between law enforcement, social services, and community organizations are seen as crucial steps in creating a supportive environment that prioritizes the safety of vulnerable individuals and holds offenders accountable for their actions. Through these efforts, the community hopes to build a stronger framework that prevents similar tragedies and promotes healing for those affected.

Most men lose fights due to poor body language, which significantly affects how they’re perceived in confrontations, ultimately leading to unfavorable outcomes. Criminals are particularly adept at sensing weakness, making it essential to maintain a commanding presence that radiates confidence and assertiveness. An improper stance not only betrays a lack of confidence but can also lead to defeat before the fight starts, as opponents may exploit the slightest signs of hesitation.

It is important to understand that in addition to physical postures, facial expressions, gestures, and overall demeanor play critical roles in communicating strength or vulnerability. Mastering these elements can create an aura that deters aggression and instills respect, giving individuals a psychological edge. By developing awareness around body language, one can engage in a form of non-verbal communication that reinforces their ability to navigate confrontations successfully.

This video meticulously outlines three key principles of fighting stance and posture that are crucial for anyone who wishes to project unwavering confidence in their everyday interactions and self-defense scenarios. By mastering these principles, individuals can establish an aura of authority that helps them take control of any situation they may encounter, allowing them to not only defend themselves effectively but also to deter potential aggressors who are attuned to the nuances of human behavior and body language. Understanding how to stand, move, and present oneself can make the difference between being perceived as a target or as someone who is prepared to face challenges.

BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THIS WORLD

“Be the change you want to see in the world” emphasizes the importance of taking initiative rather than waiting for others or circumstances to change, encouraging action to make a difference. This powerful statement serves as a reminder that each individual holds the potential to impact their environment positively. By embodying the values and qualities we wish to see, we not only inspire those around us but also create a ripple effect that can lead to broader societal transformation. It calls for personal responsibility, urging us to actively engage in our communities and advocate for the changes we desire, thereby fostering a culture of proactive solutions and collective growth. In essence, it is a challenge to reflect on our own actions and strive for improvement, knowing that real change begins within ourselves.

I first saw this video many years ago, and now that I see it through the eyes of a capoeirista, the video makes much more sense.

Historically, oppressed people are taught to go to their church, their priest, their elected official, etc., and wait for someone to rescue them from their oppression. This deeply ingrained mentality can create a sense of helplessness and stagnation, leading individuals to believe that change is beyond their control.

I learned through capoeira that if we want to help ourselves out of the miserable circumstances we find ourselves in, we must first help ourselves. Capoeira has shown me that empowerment comes from within, and through movement, rhythm, and community, we can take the necessary steps to create our own paths.

Each kick, each dance, and each beat of the berimbau serve as reminders that we hold the power to transform our realities. It’s about breaking free from the shackles of expectation and truly believing that change is not just possible, but achievable through our own efforts and bravery. Therefore, let’s embrace the spirit of capoeira, encouraging not only ourselves but also others around us to take action and be the architects of our destiny.

MALICIA AS A GAME OF POWER (2/27/25)

Welcome to MALICIA AS A GAME OF POWER, a blog series that examines the complexities of strategy in our interactions. The series will cover negotiation, manipulation, leadership skills, personal branding, and online reputation management, equipping you with the tools to navigate power dynamics and succeed in your endeavors. In this installment, we will explore the 17th law of power in the book, the 48 laws of power by Robert Greene. You can but a copy by clicking HERE.

LAW 17: Cultivate an air of unpredictability

Keep people in suspense by being unpredictable; predictability allows others to control you. Inconsistent behavior can exhaust others, leading them to abandon explanations and second-guess their own perceptions of reality. When you keep those around you in a state of uncertainty, it creates an atmosphere charged with tension and intrigue.

This unpredictability can lead to enhanced engagement, as people remain curious about your next move and are less likely to take you for granted. This sense of curiosity can serve as a powerful motivator, driving individuals to invest more time and effort into understanding your intentions and the underlying patterns of your behavior. However, when taken to extremes, this approach can intimidate and instill fear, causing relationships to fray and trust to erode. Prolonged exposure to such unpredictability may leave individuals feeling anxious and unsure, ultimately pushing them away rather than drawing them closer.

Balancing the line between intriguing unpredictability and overwhelming inconsistency is crucial in maintaining healthy interactions while keeping an air of mystery alive. This requires a careful consideration of your actions and their potential impact on others, ensuring that your enigmatic nature does not cross over into detrimental behavior that alienates those around you. Effective communication and transparency can act as a stabilizing force, providing reassurance while still allowing for an element of surprise.

The 17th Law of Power Through the Eyes of an Angoleiro

The intersection of philosophy, strategy, and martial arts offers a rich ground for exploration, particularly when viewing universal laws through the lens of a specific, deeply cultural practice. This essay delves into an interpretation of the “17th Law of Power” – often understood in conventional terms as “Keep Others in Suspended Terror: Cultivate an Air of Unpredictability” – as seen through the perspective of an Angoleiro, a practitioner of Capoeira Angola.

Capoeira Angola is more than just a fight or a dance; it is an embodied philosophy, a game (jogo) played within a circle (roda) that mirrors the complexities of life itself. The Angoleiro operates within an established structure but thrives on the unexpected. The concept of unpredictability, therefore, is not a mere tactic of psychological intimidation but a foundational principle of the jogo and a key to survival, mastery, and strategic dominance.

For the Angoleiro, the 17th Law transforms into: Cultivate Malandragem and the Element of Surprise to Control the Roda.

Malandragem as Cultivated Unpredictability

Malandragem is a complex, untranslatable concept deeply rooted in Brazilian culture and central to Capoeira Angola. It signifies cunning, street smarts, trickery, and a playful, deceptive intelligence. It is the art of navigating the world through wit and improvisation, often turning a perceived disadvantage into a strategic upper hand.

In the roda, the Angoleiro uses malandragem to keep the opponent (o outro) in a state of perpetual uncertainty, a form of “suspended terror.” This is not achieved through brute force or overt aggression, but through:

  1. The Deceptive Slow Pace (The Vadiar): The game often begins slow, low to the ground, with a seemingly lazy, indifferent posture (vadiar). This slowness is a deliberate mask. It invites the opponent to relax their guard, to underestimate the Angoleiro’s readiness, and to commit too early. The sudden, explosive attack (rasteira, cabeçada, or a swift transition to a high kick) that breaks the meditative rhythm is the manifestation of unpredictability.
  2. The Interrogation of the Body: Every movement is an interrogation of the opponent’s intentions. The Angoleiro moves laterally, feints, and offers false openings. This continuous process of “questioning” the opponent’s defenses and emotional state is a method of control. The opponent is paralyzed by having too many possibilities to consider and too little information to trust.
  3. The Mastery of Timing (Tempo): True unpredictability is about choosing the moment (o tempo) perfectly. It is not randomness, but a calculated delay or acceleration. The Angoleiro strikes not when the move is available, but when the opponent is emotionally or physically committed to a wrong assumption. The sudden change in tempo shatters the opponent’s equilibrium, ensuring that their reaction is always a step behind the action.

Strategic Implications in the Roda and Beyond

The 17th Law, when applied via malandragem, provides the Angoleiro with a profound strategic advantage:

  • Emotional Control: The power lies in maintaining one’s own composure while inducing confusion and doubt in the opponent. The unpredictable person is the one who is emotionally inscrutable. By constantly shifting their game plan—from playful trickery to sudden seriousness—the Angoleiro prevents the opponent from settling into a comfortable, predictable rhythm, thus controlling the emotional temperature of the roda.
  • The Power of the Unseen Angle: Capoeira Angola is a game of low attacks, evasions, and unexpected reversals. The Angoleiro understands that the most effective technique is often the one that comes from an angle the opponent has not considered. This mirrors the strategic need to constantly innovate and avoid routine in life and leadership, ensuring one is never a fixed target.

A Continuous State of Becoming: The commitment to unpredictability is a commitment to continuous adaptation. A predictable Angoleiro is a defeated Angoleiro. This philosophy translates to a life lesson: true power is fluid, residing not in the possession of any one strong move, but in the infinite potential for the next, unknown move. By never revealing their full, fixed nature, the Angoleiro commands respect, fear, and, most importantly, the psychological upper hand.

BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD

“The world is full of suffering; it is also full of the overcoming of it.” -Helen Keller

Sometimes on this blog, I post about some very ugly things that prevail in society, such as injustice, inequality, and the struggles many individuals face daily. However, amidst these challenges, I thought it would be a good idea to post about some of the love that prevails in society as well. This love manifests in various forms, from the small acts of kindness shared between strangers to the unwavering support among friends and family. It’s important to recognize how love can bring people together, fostering a sense of community and understanding that counters the negativity we often encounter. By highlighting these moments of compassion, I hope to inspire others to embrace love in their own lives, creating a ripple effect that can help to alleviate some of the darker aspects of our world.

In today’s installment…

Good neighbors make all the difference – they can support you, brighten your day, and sometimes even save your life! They are the people you can rely on during tough times, sharing both laughter and tears, helping you celebrate milestones and providing comfort during losses. The sense of community fostered by good neighbors enhances your living experience, creating a network of friendship and trust that can help you navigate life’s challenges.

In a world that can often feel isolating, these connections remind us of the importance of human interaction and the simple joys of knowing you have someone nearby who cares. These bonds, whether forged through shared experiences, common interests, or a simple act of kindness, serve as vital lifelines that enrich our lives. They offer comfort during challenging times and amplify our happiness during moments of joy. Recognizing the value of having friends, family, and community around us fosters a deep sense of belonging and security, making our burdens feel lighter and our successes even sweeter. Ultimately, it is these meaningful relationships that add color and depth to our existence, reminding us that we are never truly alone in this vast world.

STALKERS (12/5/24)

This series explores the complex issue of stalking, focusing on the psychological profiles of stalkers and the impact on victims. It examines real-life cases, raises awareness of stalking signs, legal implications, and the need for societal support. Through expert insights, it highlights the severe emotional distress stalking causes, including anxiety and depression, and how it can disrupt victims’ lives and relationships. Recognizing and addressing this issue is essential for providing support and resources to help affected individuals regain their safety and well-being.

In this installment, we explore the tragic case of Shiori Ino, who was stalked by her ex-partner despite her relentless efforts to seek police assistance.

Her situation escalated dramatically when her ex-partner took the horrifying step of hiring someone to kill her, underscoring not only the severity of her predicament but also the alarming systemic failures in the protective measures intended for victims of stalking.

this chilling act highlighted the urgent need for comprehensive reform in laws aimed at safeguarding individuals who are stalked, as well as the critical importance of providing adequate support and resources for those at risk, ensuring that victims are prioritized and can reclaim their safety in an increasingly threatening environment.

Stalking is a serious issue affecting many individuals, causing lasting emotional and psychological distress such as anxiety and depression that can significantly impact their quality of life. This distress often leads to a heightened state of alertness, making it difficult for victims to feel comfortable or secure in familiar environments. The pervasive nature of stalking disrupts victims’ daily lives, as they might alter routines, avoid certain places, or change contact information out of fear. In addition, it can strain relationships with family and friends, as victims may feel isolated or misunderstood in their experiences, leading to further emotional turmoil. This isolation can contribute to a cycle of despair, where victims struggle to seek help due to feelings of shame or embarrassment. Society must recognize and address this complex problem by creating awareness, offering educational resources, and ensuring accessible support systems. By doing so, we can empower victims to reclaim their sense of safety and well-being, fostering a supportive environment that encourages open dialogue and healing.
