THE MOMENT OF TRUTH FRIDAY CRIME REPORT (6/27/25)

Every Friday morning, PROFESSOR BLACK TRUTH hosts “The Friday Crime Report,” a thought-provoking program that delves deeply into critical issues such as systemic racism, economic inequality, and police brutality that profoundly affect the black community. This engaging platform not only informs viewers about the harsh realities faced by marginalized groups but also serves to raise awareness and encourage constructive dialogue among diverse audiences. By equipping individuals with necessary tools and insights for effective advocacy, the program inspires a collective movement towards meaningful policy changes. In addition, it promotes community engagement initiatives that aim to uplift voices often unheard, emphasizing the importance of social justice and equality for all. Each episode invites community members and experts to share their perspectives, fostering a rich exchange of ideas that empowers the audience to take actionable steps toward creating a fairer and more just society.

Today, we follow Aidan Hoffman, who pleaded guilty to possessing child porn, a crime that has shocked the community and raised serious moral questions. But the judge, over the prosecutors’ objections, decided to give this reprobate probation and no fine, a decision that many are calling unjust and indicative of a legal system that sometimes seems to favor offenders over victims.

The public found out about this lenient sentence, and now there’s hell to pay as outrage spreads among communities and social media platforms alike. This case has ignited a larger conversation about the treatment of sexual offenses in our legal system, the role of public opinion, and the balance between justice and rehabilitation. As individuals voice their concerns, questions arise regarding the effectiveness of current laws and the potential need for reform.

Advocates are pushing for stricter penalties and more impactful support systems for survivors, emphasizing that leniency in cases like these can undermine the severity of the crime and the experiences of those affected. It has become clear that society is demanding a deeper examination of how such cases are handled, with a focus on ensuring that justice is appropriately served while also considering the possibilities of genuine rehabilitation. The implications of this case extend far beyond its immediate effects, signaling a critical moment for change and reflection in our legal approach to sexual offenses.

MALICIA AS A GAME OF POWER (6/23/25)

Welcome to MALICIA AS A GAME OF POWER, a blog series that explores the strategies of human interactions, including communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and manipulation. It discusses leadership, personal branding, and online reputation management, providing practical strategies for influence and relationship-building. Through analysis and examples, the series aims to help readers navigate interpersonal relationships successfully.

In this installment, we will explore the 32nd law of power in the book, the 48 laws of power by Robert Greene. You can buy a copy by clicking HERE.

Law 32: Play to people’s fantasies

Play to people’s fantasies. The truth is often unpleasant, so it’s wise to avoid it when seeking to engage and enchant. People who manufacture romance are like oases in the desert, providing relief and inspiration in a world that can be dry and harsh. They cultivate dreams and illusions that allow others to escape their mundane realities, creating a sense of wonder and excitement.

There’s great power in tapping into people’s fantasies, as these imaginative flights can lead to deeper connections and emotional resonance, making all the difference in how experiences are perceived and cherished. By understanding and amplifying these fantasies, one can harness a magnetic charm that captivates hearts and minds, ultimately transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. When we allow ourselves to dive into the realms of imagination, we pave the way for richer experiences that foster intimacy and understanding, thereby bridging the emotional gaps that often exist between individuals.

Moreover, by nurturing these dreams and aspirations, we unlock pathways for creativity and innovation, allowing our interactions to transcend the mundane and ascend into the realm of the unforgettable. This engagement not only enriches our personal lives but also cultivates a shared sense of wonder, encouraging collective storytelling that empowers communities and strengthens bonds.

The 32nd law of power, through the eyes of an Angoleiro:

In the nuanced world of Capoeira Angola, a martial art where tradition, dance, and philosophy intertwine, the Laws of Power—specifically the 32nd, “Play to People’s Fantasies”—takes on a unique, deeply resonant meaning. The Angoleiro, a practitioner who embraces the slow, strategic, and often deceptive movements of Angola, understands that true influence is not built on brute force or transparent reality, but on the masterful manipulation of perception and desire.

For the Angoleiro, the roda (the circle where capoeira is played) is the stage, and the jogo (the game itself) is a meticulously crafted performance. The law is interpreted as a call to weave an irresistible illusion, one that transcends the mundane exchange of physical techniques. It’s about embodying a myth, not just executing a move.

The Angoleiro plays to fantasies in several critical ways:

  1. The Fantasy of Invulnerability and Deception: The slow, almost lethargic movements are the primary tool. An opponent watching an Angoleiro may fantasize about an easy win, seeing the lack of aggressive flashiness as weakness. The Angoleiro encourages this fantasy of superiority, only to shatter it with a sudden, devastating rasteira (sweep) or an unexpected escape. The fantasy sold is the idea that they are harmless; the reality delivered is a lesson in the dangers of underestimation.
  2. The Fantasy of Ancestral Wisdom: By donning the traditional white attire, speaking in Portuguese proverbs, and meticulously respecting the rituals, the Angoleiro evokes the fantasy of direct lineage to the enslaved Africans who created Capoeira. They are not merely an athlete; they are a living conduit to a deep, powerful, and mysterious past. This spiritual authority gives their presence in the roda a weight that simple physical prowess cannot match, making their commands and movements seem predestined and inescapable.
  3. The Fantasy of Rhythm and Song: The musicality of Capoeira Angola is central to the illusion. The Angoleiro’s movements synchronize perfectly with the berimbau and the songs. This creates a hypnotic effect, inviting the participants and audience to lose themselves in the rhythm—the fantasy of a communal, almost trance-like experience. When the fantasy is deepest, the rational mind is dormant, making the opponent susceptible to strategic feints and hidden attacks.
  4. The Fantasy of a Beautiful Defeat: In the context of Capoeira, a masterful game is often valued above a simple victory. The Angoleiro’s style—low to the ground, full of malice and humor, played close to the body—turns the jogo into an art form. The fantasy offered is the chance to be part of a beautiful, unforgettable game, even if it results in a fall. The opponent is not merely defeated; they are integrated into the Angoleiro’s legend, making the Angoleiro’s power and artistry the central focus, regardless of the outcome.

In essence, the Angoleiro teaches that to play to people’s fantasies is to understand that the human mind craves myth and spectacle more than truth. The truly powerful individual does not expose reality; they sculpt it into a dream that others willingly step into, making their surrender to the Angoleiro’s control feel like a willing participation in a magnificent art.

NAMED AND SHAMED!!!(6/24/25)

Welcome to NAMED AND SHAMED, a platform addressing abuse in martial arts by revealing stories of practitioners misusing their authority. We share personal accounts and expert interviews to highlight the need for awareness and safe spaces, aiming to expose injustices and empower victims. Inspired by YouTube channel McDojo Life, we promote transparency and accountability in the martial arts community.

In today’s installment, we have an intriguing episode of McDojo News where Rpb delves deep into the troubling case of Jimmy Ronald Anderson, a well-known Tae-Kwon-Do instructor from South Carolina, who is currently facing several serious child sexual abuse charges.

The episode sheds light on Anderson’s background, including his rise in the martial arts community and the impact he had on his students. Rpb examines the allegations against him, the ongoing legal proceedings, and how this situation has shaken the local community and raised concerns about safety in martial arts programs. As we explore the ramifications of these charges, we also discuss the broader implications for instructors and organizations within the martial arts industry, emphasizing the need for rigorous oversight and accountability to protect our children.

The martial arts community should promote empowerment and confidence, but negative behaviors can harm this environment. Practitioners and leaders must recognize and address these issues while fostering trust and respect. Educating members about misbehavior and supporting one another will enhance the community, encouraging personal growth and shared values of respect, discipline, and perseverance.

Open discussions and mentorship programs can promote unity and ensure that members feel valued and heard, fostering an environment where collaboration is encouraged and personal growth is prioritized. This sense of belonging is crucial, as it leads to a resilient community where individuals feel empowered to share their experiences, knowledge, and challenges. Consequently, this atmosphere of support enables members to strive for excellence both on and off the mat, as they are inspired by one another’s journeys and successes. By cultivating strong relationships and open lines of communication, the community not only enhances individual skills but also builds a collective strength that can adapt to challenges and celebrate achievements together.

Never judge a book by it’s cover

Good Morning! Or goo Afternoon, good evening, wherever you are.

Short post, I just wanted to show you this example of how not to judge someone based on their appearance or what they do for a living. It’s important to remember that everyone has a unique story that shapes who they are, often beyond what is immediately visible. This is also a wonderful example of how proud you should be when you start your own journey, hold your head up high, and share that information with others. Embracing your individuality and expressing your passions can inspire those around you, fostering a community of support and respect.

By looking beyond the surface, we learn to value the diverse experiences that contribute to our collective growth and understanding.

THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Man, I gotta get better at making videos.

Anyway, I want to tell you about another amazing Capoeira Angola adventure I had last Sunday, June 22nd, a day after the summer solstice. It was an afternoon filled with reuniting with old friends and meeting new friends, creating a vibrant tapestry of connections that warmed the heart. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as practitioners of all levels gathered, each contributing their unique energy to the circle. The rhythm of the Berimbau resonated in the air, and the infectious laughter and lively conversations surrounded us, creating a sense of community. The amazing brotherhood and camaraderie that expresses all that is good about Capoeira reminded me of the essence of this beautiful art form—it’s not just about the physical practice, but also about the relationships we build and the stories we share as we grow together in our journey.

There were quite a few schools of Capoeira there from all over L.A., and a few from Orange County, creating an atmosphere filled with excitement and energy that drew everyone in, igniting a sense of community among practitioners and spectators alike. As the sun set, casting a warm glow over the gathering, we played soft, we played hard, showcasing our skills and passion for the art; the rhythms of the Berimbau resonated in the background, elevating the experience to a transcendental level. We all played beautifully, each move telling a story of dedication and culture, as every kick, spin, and flip blended into a captivating narrative that celebrated our heritage, bridging gaps between generations and uniting us through the vibrant dance of Capoeira.

The rhythm pulsed through our veins, and then, after a couple of hours, we ended with an amazing Samba De Roda, where I admit, I danced longer than I should have, completely losing track of time in the joyous celebration. But when the drums call, I have to answer, surrendering to the infectious beat that calls to the very essence of who I am. Then after that was the coolest, most amazing picnic I ever attended, where laughter echoed through the air, delicious fruit was shared, and new friendships were formed under the warm sun, making the entire day an unforgettable experience that I will cherish forever.

This amazing celebration was the start of Capoeira Batuque’s annual batisado, which will be happening all this week, filled with various activities, workshops, and performances that showcase the rich cultural heritage of Capoeira. For more info, please check out their website, brasilbrasil.org. It promises to be an exciting time for participants and spectators alike, as students demonstrate their skills and passion for this unique art form.

I would like to sincerely thank Mestre Amen Santo, as well as Mestres Muito tempo, Minha Velha, Varal, and Contramestres Saracuru for their invaluable contributions to the Capoeira community, which have significantly shaped our culture and practices over the years. A special mention goes out to Arthur Fiu, whose unwavering enthusiasm and vibrant energy truly inspire us all, motivating each member to strive for excellence and to embrace the spirit of Capoeira. Furthermore, I cannot forget to express my appreciation for my uncle in Capoeira, brother Jelani Lateef, whose infectious laughter and warm presence always bring joy and positivity to our gatherings, creating an atmosphere that fosters camaraderie and friendship.

I’m pretty sure I missed some of you, and for that, I sincerely apologize; it was never my intention to exclude anyone, but in the excitement and depth of acknowledgement, I realize that some deserving names may have slipped my mind. Thank you all for your support and passion in keeping the Capoeira tradition alive.

I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago, I went to Oakland for another EVENT. The experience there was truly unforgettable, filled with laughter, connections, and a vibrant sense of community. And as amazing as that was, after coming back here to LA, going to the gathering on JUNETEENTH, and this gathering yesterday, which further highlighted the importance of unity and love, all I can say is,

THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

WELL, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

The Professor posted this engaging video, which not only captivates the audience with its rich content but also explores thought-provoking ideas and complex concepts in an accessible manner, making it a valuable resource for both students and curious minds alike. He posted it yesterday, but I only saw it today so… Today is when you get to see my post about it.

Israel and the Trump administration are currently engaged in a military action against Iran, asserting that the nation is advancing its nuclear weapon program. This situation has sparked a significant debate on both domestic and international fronts. Professor Black Truth provides an in-depth analysis, shedding light on perspectives that are often overlooked or misrepresented by mainstream media. He articulates the complexities of the geopolitical landscape, revealing the underlying motivations behind the conflict.

In addition to this, he will examine the recent outrage directed at Whoopi Goldberg following her controversial statement suggesting that the struggles faced by Iranians are not substantially worse than those endured by Black Americans. This comparison, while provocative, opens up a dialogue about the intersectionality of different struggles and the nuances of societal oppression, prompting further reflection on how narratives are shaped and perceived across various communities.

TODAY IN BLACK MEDIA (6/22/25)

TODAY IN BLACK MEDIA delivers news and cultural discussions from an African American viewpoint, emphasizing often-overlooked global black achievements and significant stories. It serves as a crucial resource for understanding the nuances of black life, fostering conversations about race, culture, and identity. By amplifying underrepresented voices, it encourages engagement with societal issues and promotes unity within and beyond the African American community, aiming to create a vibrant narrative that celebrates black cultures worldwide.

Today… I have one more thing to report about Junereenth.

A Black North Carolina woman waiting to have her truck serviced decided to spend her money elsewhere after two employees and another customer appeared to mock Juneteenth, a significant holiday celebrating the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. Frustrated and feeling disrespected, the woman, who was the only Black person in Synergy Auto Care in Wilson, North Carolina, at the time, confronted the staff directly. She emphatically told an employee to, “Give me my f***ing truck! Pull my truck around, please. Pull my truck around and give me my truck.” This moment encapsulates the broader issues of racial insensitivity and the need for businesses to foster an inclusive environment for all customers. Dr. Rashad Richey and Maz Jobrani weigh in on this troubling incident in the above video, delving into the implications of such behavior and discussing the importance of accountability in service industries.

Okay, before I go any further, I want my readers here to understand…

SLAVERY NEVER ENDED IN THE USA, IT ONLY BECAME ILLEGAL!

For the record, slavery in the United States officially became illegal with the ratification of the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution on December 6, 1865. The amendment states that “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

While President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, issued on January 1, 1863, declared that slaves in Confederate states in rebellion would be free, it did not apply to border states loyal to the Union. Therefore, the 13th Amendment was essential to ensure the abolition of slavery throughout the entire United States.

The Senate passed the 13th Amendment in April 1864, and the House of Representatives followed suit in January 1865. The amendment was then sent to the states for ratification and became law in December 1865 after receiving the necessary approval from three-fourths of the states.

Now for those of you out there who want to learn about Juneteenth and it’s signifignance, I advise you to search this website for other posts I made about it on this website… Or you can GOOGLE IT.

SPIRITUAL PRACTICES OF AFRICA, AND THE DIASPORA (6/22/25)

This series explores indigenous beliefs and religions in Sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on ancestral worship, Christianity, and Islam. It highlights the region’s cultural heritage through rituals and community gatherings that celebrate identity and wisdom. By showcasing ceremonies, it illustrates the symbolic meanings of practices that strengthen social ties among ethnic groups. The series also examines how these traditions adapt within the diaspora, creating a blend of ancient customs and contemporary beliefs. Additionally, it emphasizes storytelling’s role in preserving oral histories that guide future generations.

This video is taken from a segment of a fascinating livestream. Be sure to check out Hometeam History during these engaging broadcasts, as each one offers a wealth of insight and discussion. In this particular segment, home team delves into the concept of cognitive dissonance faced when studying African spirituality—a rich and complex area of inquiry that often challenges prevailing narratives. He also shares his personal journey of exploration and the transformative experience that led him to reconsider the voodoo ceremony of the Haitian revolution.

By analyzing it through the lens of the results-based African spiritual model of the Niger-Congo peoples, he uncovers the deeper connections that unite these practices with broader African traditions, revealing a rich tapestry of beliefs and rituals that have evolved over centuries. This approach not only enriches our understanding of the cultural significance and historical context surrounding these powerful spiritual expressions but also highlights the intricate ways in which these practices serve as a foundation for community cohesion and individual identity.

Furthermore, it brings to light the ongoing struggles and triumphs faced by African descendants globally, situating their experiences within a framework of resilience and strength that transcends geographical boundaries and historical traumas. Ultimately, this exploration enhances the narrative of resilience and identity among African descendants, celebrating their enduring legacy and the continual adaptation of their spiritual practices in the face of modern challenges.
