45 years ago, John Lennon invited a founding Black Panthers member onto a famous American talk show – YouTube

Here is a short clip that explains why the black panther party was targeted and destroyed by the United States government.

They were set up to become the very needed 3rd party that while looking out for black communities. They were also concerned about the poor and oppressed of this nation regardless of skin color, faith, etc. Lunch program, clothing programs, and medical programs were established.
Not in the interest of profit,
but in the interest of the people.

They respected people’s right to arm and defend themselves. While acknowledging that not everyone should be allowed to own gun. They had begun to help establish like minded organizations within white, asian, and latino communities.

Then they were systematically targeted.
Many of the communities they help to build up. Were flooded with a new highly addictive drug.
Laws were altered to limit their gun rights while giving law enforcement increased power to harass and harm members.
And prominent leader were systematically killed off or jailed.

Pretty messed up story that few outside of the black community even know about.
