Many videos of Capoeira Angola highlight its vibrant culture, showcasing the fusion of music, movement, and community in this martial art. They depict intricate footwork and acrobatics by artists in white attire, symbolizing unity and resistance, while the rhythmic sounds of traditional instruments enhance the experience. These recordings present various styles and insights from masters, deepening the appreciation of this Brazilian heritage and the stories behind each movement. The dedication of practitioners reflects the enduring legacy of Capoeira Angola, inviting all to recognize its beauty and resilience.

In Today’s installment, I show you one of the best games I’ve ever seen.

This Jogo (game) is being played by Contramestre Xande, and Contramestre Orikere (though he was a Treinel then), of Angoleiors do Sertao.

Angoleiros do Sertao is a renowned Capoeira Angola group founded in the 1980’s by MESTRE CLAUDIO COSTA, who has dedicated his life to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Capoeira. Since its inception, the group has become a hub for passionate practitioners and enthusiasts, fostering a sense of community while emphasizing the traditional aspects and roots of this Afro-Brazilian martial art. Members participate in regular training sessions, workshops, and community events, enabling both seasoned capoeiristas and newcomers to immerse themselves in the dynamic and expressive movements that define Capoeira Angola. The group also aims to share its knowledge with a broader audience, advocating for the understanding and appreciation of this vibrant art form worldwide.
