I didn’t want to re-visit this topic so soon, but I saw this inspirational Dhar Mann video which gave me a newer perspective on this topic. But first, let’s get this out of the way:

I love watching Dhaar Mann Videos.

Now, check out the video/

This video is a poignant reminder of the countless fighters who have harbored dreams similar to the young man’s heartfelt aspirations for his mother. It forces us to reflect on the harsh reality that many of these individuals may endure prolonged suffering and a slow, painful demise. It’s a sobering thought that their plight could have been alleviated, or perhaps even averted entirely, if only the promoters and owners had shown genuine concern for the well-being of the fighters who contributed to their financial success.

In case you dont know what I’m talking about, I’m talking about this.

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a neurodegenerative disease often linked to repeated head trauma, especially in contact sports and multiple concussions. The symptoms can be debilitating, leading to memory loss, confusion, and impaired judgment, ultimately resulting in severe cognitive decline and behavioral changes. The correlation between CTE and dementia has brought to light the long-term consequences of head injuries, impacting both individuals and their loved ones. Beyond the physical and cognitive manifestations, the emotional and psychological toll of CTE cannot be overlooked. It can affect not only the affected athletes but also their families, who witness the distressing changes in their loved ones. The burden of caring for individuals with CTE can be overwhelming, necessitating comprehensive support systems and resources. In light of these challenges, there is a pressing concern for increased awareness and research dedicated to understanding CTE and its implications. The need for recognition, support, and collaboration among organizations, medical professionals, and sports associations is paramount to ensure the long-term welfare of affected athletes. It is crucial to address not only the immediate consequences of head injuries but also the enduring impact they can have on individuals and their communities.
