Ginga of Resilience: The Benefits of Capoeira Angola for Adolescents w/Mestre Roxinho
Here’s some video clips about his organization, Project Bantu.
Project Bantu is a social intervention program that engages at-risk, vulnerable young people using the traditions and philosophy of Capoeira Angola. The project combines the therapeutic potential of musical and physical expression to produce a range of social and learning outcomes, it also aims to empower young people to support their ability to succeed and face the challenges of life.
And now, a word from Mestre Roxinho.
In Brazil and Australia we have a proverb that says; Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime. Based on this, we are looking for forms of financial sustainability, to build solid maintenance for our projects, but in order to take this step, we need your support to equip our first Ecobusiness. Bantu Brazil is establishing a hostel business on the island which will provide employment opportunities for the local community as well as income to support Bantu community outreach programs. We have already managed to make progress in the organization, but we have run into an old financial difficulty, and that is why I am here more once to ask for your support in the completion of the preparation of “Aconchego Bantu”, doing so as soon as you come when you will have a hostel to stay in, and at the same time you will be supporting a low-income community.
Please support and share the link for our campaign to get this venture up and running which will make a big difference in the lives of our community.Click on the link and donate. https://chuffed.org/project/hostelbantu
We count on your support!
Thank you very much
