South Carolina African American Heritage Foundation Invites Applicants for Summer Institute – The Charleston Chronicle

The South Carolina African American Heritage Foundation (SCAAHF) is accepting applications from social studies and visual and performing arts teachers and college students majoring in arts education to participate in an institute at Historic Penn Center on St. Helena Island, June 17 through June 21, 2019. Participants will be immersed in the Gullah Geechee Culture and given strategies to assist with developing lesson plans.

Yellow Vests Hit Police With “Poo Bombs” in Newest Wave of Protests

According to French police, Yellow Vest protesters are now using an ancient form of biological warfare in the newest wave of protests. This weekend, authorities reported that Yellow Vest protesters hurled bags of fecal matter at the police. The rudimentary poop-filled mini bombs were made using thin bags and balloons with the intent that they would easily burst on impact

2 Former Police Officers Arrested in Killing of Afro-Brazilian Councilwoman Marielle Franco

Since their arrests, internet sleuths have unearthed photos of Lessa and Queiroz with President Bolsonaro. Investigators have not confirmed any relationship between the shooters and President Bolsonaro, who never paid homage to Franco during his presidential campaign last year.
